Marlborough school residency requirements called 'crazy' By Galen Moore/Daily News staff GHS Wed Jun 27, 2007, 01:38 AM EDT Marlborough - Some parents will simply keep their children home from school next year if a proposal to require stronger proof of residency goes forward, said advocates for area immigrants. Marlborough Superintendent Barbara McGann has proposed to ask parents to submit one from each of four categories of documents to prove local residency. The categories include, for example, a lease or mortgage document, a utility bill, a driver's license and a tax return, she said last week. The change is proposed to deal with what McGann calls "an ongoing issue" - parents who live elsewhere attempting to sneak their children into Marlborough's superior school system. http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/homepage/x737940884 i hate to see kids getting less than a "superior" education. But this is another example of how ILLEGAL's get by because they fit in that category.
