Medals, Uniform, Marine Sword Stolen, Dad Says

TALLEYVILLE, Del. -- Delaware State Police said a truck and trailer with most of a Marine's possessions were stolen north of Wilmington days before his upcoming deployment.

Police said Marine Cpl. Robert Lamica's father was staying at a Quality Inn when someone stole a truck and trailer containing his son's belongings Monday.

Lamica, a native of Northampton, is at Camp Lejeune and his father was hauling his son's possessions back to Massachusetts, where the Marine and his wife Brandy will live when he returns from Iraq.
Police said the stolen property included Lamica's medals and ribbons, his dress blues and Marine sword. The items are worth about $10,000.

Police are looking for a white 2001 Dodge Ram truck and U-Haul trailer.

Marine's stolen truck found empty

Posted: Aug 28, 2008 06:21 PM EDT

(WWLP) - A Marine's stolen truck has been found. Last week, Corporal Robert Lamica's U-Haul was stolen in Delaware, during his move to western Massachusetts. Police found his truck, on Wednesday, but it was empty, and the U-Haul that was attached is still missing.
Lamica's Wife, Brandy said its a huge disappointment. They've canceled their move until he finishes his tour in IRAQ in 9 months.
But as disappointed as they are, Brandy said they'll get back on their feet, the community has come together to help them buy back part of what they lost.
The Lamica's say they still have hope the culprits are found.
