SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - One man is under arrest and another is recovering in the hospital after an early morning stabbing in Springfield.
Sergeant Brian Manly told 22News that two men got into a fight outside 71-75 Harvard Street around 4:30 Saturday morning. One man was left bleeding on the sidewalk.
Police have charged 22-year-old Manuel Villaneuve with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Officers arrested him at the Baystate Medical Center emergency room where according to Lieutenant Lynch, Villaneuve had gone to be treated for a cracked tooth.
None of the six stab wounds inflicted on the other man was serious enough to threaten his life.
