DUDLEY- A Worcester man is being held without bail on charges stemming from a July 28 incident in Southbridge in which the vehicle he was driving struck a police cruiser while the man was allegedly trying to elude arrest.

Errol Trevor Carlor of 7 Clifton Terrace, Apt. 1, Worcester, was arraigned in Dudley District Court on motor vehicle charges from his arrest Tuesday and at a detention hearing on charges lodged by police in connection with the earlier incident.

The State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, with assistance from the police department detective bureau, apprehended Mr. Carlor Tuesday as he attempted to flee from his apartment. Southbridge Police Chief Daniel R. Charette said there was minimal damage to the cruiser and no injuries to the police officer on July 28, when Mr. Carlor fled on Cole Avenue in Southbridge as the officer was getting out of his cruiser.

Officers had a tracking dog sniff clothing from the suspect's vehicle, and the dog identified Mr. Carlor from a lineup.
