A laborer was killed after being electrocuted while doing overnight construction at a Walpole Wal-Mart, police confirmed.
The 47-year-old laborer, whose name has not been released, died shortly after 1 a.m. today while trying to reconnect electrical wires knocked down by two demolition crews working in the store, said Walpole Deputy Police Chief Scott Bushway.
The man was a Brazilian native living in Somerville, police said.
"We're having a difficult time notifying his family," Bushway said. "He lived alone and had no relatives in this country."
No other injuries were reported. The names of the two subcontracting companies working on the remodeling project were not immediately known, Bushway said.
