A Middleboro man was arrested following an alleged drug deal in the Shaw's Plaza parking lot on Pearl Street.
Police said Detective Mark Sherrick saw John Cody, 32, parked in the lot near an ATM machine and talking on his cell phone Wednesday night.
A short time later, a second vehicle pulled up to Cody's GMC Yukon.
Cody got out of his SUV and walked over to the driver of a Kia Sedona minivan to lean into the passenger side window of the vehicle, police said.
After a brief exchange, the two vehicles drove out of the parking lot.
Sherrick and other officers stopped Cody on Plain Street.
Police search Cody's Yukon and allegedly found a cigarette pack containing twelve 80-milligram OxyContin pills.
Cody initially told the officers that he got the pills from the man in the Kia, but later admitted that he had sold two OxyContin pills to the Canton man, police said.
Cody was charged with distribution of OxyContin, possession of OxyContin with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the state drug laws.
