STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) - A Redding man has been arrested for allegedly choking a boy who kept sticking his hand out of the window as they traveled on the Merritt Parkway.
Police have charged 47-year-old Mark Darlington with third-degree strangulation and risk of injury to children.
Police say Darlington was driving on the parkway with his girlfriend's son when the boy began thrusting his hand out the window. The boy apparently ignored Darlington's requests to pull his hand back inside the car.
Police say Darlington then pulled over on the road's shoulder and grabbed the boy's throat.
Police said when Darlington let the boy go he had red marks on his throat.
The boy later told his mother about the incident and she called police.
