A 34-year-old Irish citizen is accused of exposing himself and accosting two women at the Symphony T station, according to MBTA Transit Police who caught the alleged perv's dirty deeds on tape.
Michael Joseph Brown of Limerick, Ireland, is being held on $10,000 bail and was committed for a psychiatric evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital yesterday on charges of open and gross lewdness and possession of a Class B substance. He returns to court Oct. 20.
MBTA cops say shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, Brown pulled up a chair near the electronic fare machines, exposed himself and began masturbating in plain view of the public. One alleged victim told police that the man walked up behind her and said, "Do you want this?" and "Come here, look at this." She headed for the exit and called 911, police said.
A second victim later contacted cops and said that while at the fare machine, she felt the suspect rub himself against her lower back and heard him say "Do you like this?" and "How do you like this?"
When cops arrived, the suspect allegedly refused to stop fondling himself, according to a police report. Officers had to pepper spray the suspect twice to stop him, the report states. Security camera footage shows a suspect exposing himself and walking up to two women.
Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, said Brown arrived in the United States five days ago for reasons unknown. Authorities have contacted the Irish consulate.
In April, T police launched an ad campaign in conjunction with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center to encourage women to report subway-stalking predators and deployed a "grope patrol" of undercover decoys who pose as bait for pathological pervs.
