What would you choose and why? Pro's and Con's about why picking one over the other, and if you had the choice what would you pick

The smart choice would be the one that gives you a job offer.

C'mon now.. Most of the people we run are just trying to turn their lives around.. No need to go into DOC records

Look, I realize that you have been a registered member since 2009. But really, WTF???
Questions about specialized units, PAT screenings, and now this gem...

I am not in corrections, neither am I BOP. I am just Po-Po. But isn't pretty obvious that comparing DOC and BOP is like comparing apples and oranges? There are Pros and Cons to every job. (Plenty of Cons with DOC and Ex-Cons with BOP)

If I was job hunting, I would take the first available. That's it, period, nothing more.

BOP is a good gig lots of mobility if you ever want to relocate. Plus you'll be in the federal law enforcement retirement system. From what I understand DOC pays more, has a better pension, and there's more overtime. If you want to use corrections as a stepping stone I would say BOP is better but if you care more about making money and your retirement I'd say DOC is a better choice.

MA DOC and BOP is not like comparing apples to oranges at all. Your a correctional officer the Federal Bureau of Prisons or at the MA DOC... My question involves which agency is better for advancement, pay, life long career, etc if you had to decide between BOP or MA DOC

Because jobs are so plentiful, and there's such a dearth of applicants, one can afford to be picky.

Don't bother applying for a job you don't want.

Other than that, I am personally applying to four different places right now. I would be tickled pink to go to work for any of them.

I have my preferences as to where I would like to go out of those four, but if I get an offer from any of them, I'm taking it.

I would rather serve my time with the Feds rather than the State. Better chance of getting a nerdy white collar roomate. What are you going in for and how long?

Do I have to use 500 words or less? APA format and works cited? ;)

Just saying that makes me realize I don't miss college.

Ted Kacinzky probably isn't too bad as long as his mail is being checked thoroughly. I wouldn't want to be kept in the same cell with the guy.

Is the BOP uniform still consistent with that of a used car salesman?
