LONDONDERRY,NH — Daniel M. Driscoll, 77, formerly of Exeter, Hampton and Methuen, Mass., died Monday, August 11, 2008, at his son's home.
He was born April 12, 1931, in Lawrence, Mass., the son of the late Michael F. and Mary (Murphy) Driscoll.
He was a 1948 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Lawrence, and attended Merrimack College, North Andover, Mass., and McIntosh Business School, Lawrence.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Driscoll served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a State Police trooper for 21 years, retiring as a lieutenant. After his retirement, he was affiliated with Old Methuen Realty for several years before founding Driscoll & Driscoll Realty & Appraising.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara A. (Bailey) Driscoll; one son and his wife, Michael A. and Sharon Driscoll, of Londonderry, with whom he made his home; two grandchildren, Corey D. Driscoll and Patricia B. Driscoll, and one brother-in-law, Arthur Bailey of Methuen.
WE REMEMBER: He was a former communicant of St. Monica Church in Methuen; a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton; a member of the Knights of Columbus Council in Methuen; the Holy Name Society and St. Vincent DePaul Society in Hampton.
Mr. Driscoll served on the Methuen Board of Trade and the Methuen Town Council; was a former member of the Methuen Rotary Club; Massachusetts Troopers Association, and the Retired State County & Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842.
