The Town of Westwood is currently accepting applications for Police Officer Lateral Transfers. Applicants must have civil service status and have successfully completed a full-time MCJTC Police Academy. Only permanent Massachusetts civil service police officers are eligible for transfer under the provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 31, Section 35. All candidates seeking transfer to the Westwood Police Department will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation and medical & psychological examinations. The current base salary range is $44,794.50 - $52,441.64, plus the Quinn Bill educational incentive and a full benefits package.
The Town of Westwood is an established community of 15,648 located 12 miles southwest of Boston, and situated at the junction of Routes 95/128 and 93. Westwood provides the convenience of having two commuter rail lines, full MBTA service, and Routes 1, 1A and 109. The Town is governed by an open Town Meeting, an elected Board of Selectmen and an appointed Town Administrator.
