KINGSTON -
A Kingston man drew the attention of a police officer by "honking the horn excessively" in a gas station parking lot, and he was arrested after a query turned up a warrant, police said.
Sgt. Robert Morgan said Ryan Roberts, 21, was arrested on a warrant for motor vehicle violations just after 1 a.m. Sunday. The excessive honking took place at the Hess gas station on Summer Street.
The arrest was one of three that Kingston police made on a busy Sunday.
Just after 3:30 p.m., Jane Allison, 52, of Rockland was taken into custody at the police station. She was arrested on a warrant for violating a restraining order out of Carver, Morgan said.
Just before 3:30 p.m., Justin Egan, 30, of Pembroke was arrested and charged with driving to endanger and failure to stop for police. Egan was seen driving a dirt bike on Indian Pond Road, and when officers tried to stop him, he took off into Indian Pond Estates, Morgan said.
In the housing development, Egan crashed off the side of the road, then stood up, said he was fine and surrendered, Morgan said.
Kingston police arrested another Pembroke man early on Friday. After Pembroke Street residents reported that a woman had been assaulted in a red convertible, Sgt. John Lind saw the convertible pull into the driveway of a house near the intersection of Pembroke and Evergreen streets, Morgan said.
Four to five young people were in the car, including the young woman who had been assaulted, Morgan said.
Driver Andrew Barron, 23, of Pembroke initially gave his brother's name to Lind, even though the brother was also in the car, Morgan said. Barron was arrested at 12:45 a.m. for giving a false name to a police officer, driving with a suspended license and a lights violation, and for four previous arrest warrants, Morgan said.
