Any advice? what company etc.?
Training is decent for what youll be doing. Remember, its security officer with arrest powers. You are NOT a regular police officer. I will add a shit ton more info on this tomorrow from a computer. Not into typing from my phone.
Read it. Know it. Dont run around like a jackass and flash a badge and fuck it up. Good to get your feet wet.
If you end up being a security guard at one of the MHFA private apartment complexes, DO NOT go around telling people you're with the Boston Housing Police. Housing cops and housing police alumni (such as me) don't appreciate our coattails being ridden.
When I was the vice-president of the BHA PD Patrolman's Union, I torpedoed the chances of someone being hired by a civil service PD, because I saw him lie on videotape to the town selectman that he was with the Boston Housing Police when in fact he was a MHFA security guard with Boston SPO powers of arrest.
From what I understand, it's a decent paying job and you'll get a lot of experience, but don't try to make it into something it's not.
I felt all warm and fuzzy after reading that....for several reasons!
Read and heed Code 3's link. Then read it again. Start learning how to write proper reports.
And keep those MGL booklets at hand. There is a reason for them being pocket-sized.
Companies: SSS, Alliance Security, Longwood, US Security, Venom etc.
Venom??? Think I'll start a company and name it Anti-venom.
