Hi-
My name is --- and I am a 17 yo with a JOL in Massachusetts. Yesterday, I was pulled over and recieved a written warning for texting at a stoplight. This is my first offense and will make sure it never happens again. How long does a written warning stay in the system for, and will it be expunged from my record once I turn 18/ get my regular lisence?

Thank you so much for all of your help!

For reference: I was in shoes similar to yours some time ago. That warning will always be on there... in MA. No need to worry, just don't do it again. That's why you got the warning. Be very careful about your driving habits, as driving is a privilege.

I had the understanding that the RMV did not actually record the information from written warnings in any state system because the burden was too great. That was why the old law was changed, the law which used to say if a driver got three written warnings in 12 months, the RMV would issue a 7 day suspension of the license.
The local police department might enter written warnings into its own records system.
I'm curious myself now: Does anyone know for sure if the RMV does or does not key written warnings into a database now?

I know if you’re using the e-cite software, a warning/cite will register into the operators KQ, but I have never followed up as to what the RMV does with it.

RMV does nothing about written warnings, you can get 50 in a week. But yes, if it is a printed e-ticket on MACCS it hits the driver history almost immediately.

Well I just requested my driving record from the RMV, and on my version I could not see any of the my three written warnings in the recent past. I’m not sure if it looks the same on the end of the RMV though.

If they were hand written when issued then they wouldn't be on there. If they were computer printed warnings, then that means what the RMV shows you is less extensive then what shows up on our computers.
