A part-time garda station has been badly damaged in a suspected petrol bomb attack.
The building in Blarney, Co Cork was broken into and set on fire in the early hours of the morning. It is understood a petrol bomb was used to start the blaze and two cars parked close to the station were also badly damaged.
Gardai said substantial smoke damage was done to the station, which was closed at the time. No arrests have been made and gardai at Gurranabraher have launched an investigation into the fire.

In the more rural areas of Ireland many police stations are open only part time and a direct phone or "green man" is available at the door should someone go there seeking help.
Blarney, where the traditional Blarney Stone is located, is a small village just to the northwest of Cork City.

Since this incident over the weekend another attack has been reported another comes in from quite some distance up on the west coast of Ireland.
Gardaí in Carna, Galway say they will not stand for last night's arson attack on the Garda Station there.
They say the attack is not just an attack on Gardai in the immediate area but an attack on Gardaí all over the country.
Extensive damage was caused in last night's attack which happened at around 10 o'clock and two units of the fire brigade from Clifden attended the scene.
It's understood a number of lockers and uniforms were damaged.
It's the second attack on Carna Garda station in recent weeks.
Last month, all the windows were smashed by stones along with other damage to the exterior.
Superintendent Anthony O Domhnaill of Carna Garda station says the attack was a 'despicable effort by thugs to cause damage and interfere with the process of the state'.
