I'm on Verizon, they don't have unlimited data plans anymore. So if I upgrade I have to get a new contract, thus losing my unlimited data.

To answer your question seriously, the way I understand it is if you upgrade your phone with Verizon and take their phone discount then they will make you select a new non-unlimited plan. If you a buy a phone on your own and have them activate it then you can keep your plan. So I would say go on Ebay or Craigslist and get a good used phone and keep your plan.

Leave Verizon and get Sprint. They have unlimited and the coverage is just as good in the east.

If you had a 4S I'd say hold off, since the next one is going to be allegedly offered up sooner than next fall, but with a 4 it might be worth it. I just upped from a 3GS so it was a huge jump for me. The extra real estate and true LTE make it a no-brainer I think. LTE is dead sessy fast.

I upgraded from a 3G, relax my aunt gave me the phone to see if I liked the iPhone vs. the Samsung that shit the bed on me. I went to the 5, but I have AT&T, and I didn't lose my contract pricing. I've been with AT&T so long they don't even offer my plan anymore, so I roll over something like 1000 minutes a month. LTE service is fast as hell, unlike 3 or even 4 generation.

If you have an iPhone now, the 5 isn't going to be difficult for you. You may have to buy the adapter for the lighting connection.

I love Verizon's service, I can't argue that it's better then AT&T, but I can say I have no complaints.

I'm honestly afraid to buy a phone off Craigslist and get burned. Im think im gonna suck it up and get the 5 new.

Don't do it. I have a 4S and Siri is the only useless addition from 4. I hear that the difference between the 4S and the 5 is a joke as well. Neither is worth forgoing unlimited data.

Hmmm

If you want a cheap plan, wait until T-Mobile starts rolling out 3G on all the bandwidth they bought up from AT&T during the proposed merger and then buy it. Not LTE, but plans will be way cheaper than Verizon (I went from $130 a month w/ five phones and no data plan to $89 a month for five phones - and three of them have 200mb data plans).
