Police say they busted a man dressed as a police officer and checking IDs at a bar in Iowa City.
Police were called to The Union, 121 E. College Street, just after midnight Sunday, October 27, 2013 to investigate a man dressed as a police officer who was checking the IDs of customers in the bar.
Carlos Escorcia, 41, was reportedly found in the VIP area above the dance floor of the bar. Police said Escorcia was wearing a dark blue police uniform shirt with older Iowa City Police Department patches on both shoulders. Escorcia was also reportedly wearing a duty belt with a replica revolver and reloaders and a silver badge around his neck.
