ARLINGTON, Texas — Authorities are close to identifying a man who was shot to death by a federal agent serving a warrant at an Arlington apartment Thursday.
The man, thought to be in his mid-50s, used a number of aliases. Officials were trying to sort through those aliases Friday to determine his true identity, according to a Tarrant County medical examiner’s office spokesman.
One of the aliases is Harry Wilson Aguilar Sr., the spokesman said. Aguilar Sr. is the father of a man federal authorities took into custody Thursday, the spokesman said.
Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives went to the Arlington Parks apartment complex about 6 a.m. to serve search and arrest warrants for Harry Wilson Aguilar Jr., one of more than two dozen accused members of the Texas Syndicate prison gang facing drug trafficking charges.
The younger Aguilar was one of 23 people taken into custody during a statewide sweep that targeted members of the Texas Syndicate accused of involvement in the distribution of cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.
The younger Aguilar was taken into custody at an apartment in the 3100 block of East Park Row Drive.
