Wiggins woman arrested for stealing tractor

A Wiggins woman was charged Sunday night with the theft of a front-loading tractor and driving it along U.S. 49 into Forrest County. Meagan Andrews, 28, was taken into custody around 11:30 p.m. on Jervis Mims Road by Forrest County deputies then turned over to Wiggins Police Department....

Calico said the deputies' attempts to pull over the vehicle with blue lights and sirens were unsuccessful. With assistance from Hattiesburg Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol, deputies tried to stop the tractor with stop sticks.

"But due to the size of the tires, they were unable to penetrate them," Calico said.

The front-loader turned onto Tucker Road in the Dixie community and continued on to Elks Lake Road, still traveling northbound. The driver later turned west onto Ira Hudson Road, where deputies disabled the vehicle by shooting the tires."
