Yeah i know a few people who have those same ones for their wallet badge
good old dough boys
Paul still around ?
the place on Boston St. has been gone for awhile, but was told their still someplace in the city.
The Weymouth location has been gone for years, also.
I miss the "original" Dough Boy, the coffee shop that also served food late night. It was depressing when it was sold and turned into yet another cookie-cutter DD's.
I remember seeing that type of boston special badge the custom one being worn by the prudential mall security guards and certain cvs security guards. By copley square. During my old patrol days.
The Mets stopped me once on my way home from Beantown.
I didn't say shit about that square badge I had with me, or ask
for any favors as a Boston Special Police Officer,
and although I probably deserved everything that I had coming to me...
they still let me go.
Not every Auxillary/Special/Volunteer/Part-Timer/Reserve/etc... deserves our wrath either.
i loved the Mets !
heard horror stories about them, but they always were cool with me.
Attitude is EVERYTHING.
I would bet there are a few specials out there with more real world experience then I've got, so even though they maybe looked at as something short of lepers by some, I'll engage in conversation before making a judgement.
Agreed. Myself and many others started out in this game as one. Of course there were plenty of yahoos then, and there still are now. But I don't forget where I came from either.
These are both outstanding replies. Kudos to both of you. You both are spot on.
Damn straight! hell I've been moving backwards myself lately HA HA!!!!
Aww! Come on now Sauce........some Boston Specials make great Sergeants Where you work...
You done it now Sauce..... lol
Welcome back there Bronco-Billy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Missed you much!
You two know exactly the type I mean. I don't care what you are, say hello, be respectful and ID yourself and it's all good. I wouldn't expect anyone to act in a lesser fashion, however there are people in the job who believe they are entitled to special treatment and they act like it.
Just make sure you send me info on any of my people so that I can have some "come to jesus" type talks with them......
I wish I tinned that somerville meter maid last night! lol Thats ok, it was a really tasty six pack.
Yeah, I went to the old place a few months back cause I had to get a mourning band. I forget the street they are on now, but still in buisness. This thread brings back some good ole memories, when I was at New World, what a disaster that place was.
Where was that? I've never heard of new world
Shit, I cant even remember, they were in Dorchester if I remember correctly and the place was a shit show!
New World was the successor to Straughter Security, speaking of shit shows.
Was that like naratoon?
remember that huge parrot at the shop ?
we were taking bets on who would put their finger in the cage. no way jose ! that thing would take your hand off
New World was guys with the red stripe patrolling the Columbia Rd projects ?
use to see them on the way home at night.
