Two allow the amendment of current powers to allow for jurisdiction on roads that are immediately adjacent to out juridiction, and not allow us to work details on them, one to give us some $ for vests. All three were killed in committee in less than four months.

What are your feelings on this?

I would like such juridiction since I am constantly on such roads in the commison of my duties, however, I can understand some hesitation as there are those that would turn into CHiP's on the same streets. I say give it to us, and allow the individual dept's Chiefs to control the troops.

Okay, discuss.

If you dig a little into the past few years, Scott Harshbarger, former MA attorney general attempted to propose some sweeping changes to MGL 22c 63, some of which included the words "traffic" and "the ability to provide police services to neighboring municipalities if requested" and other novel ideas... ( this was from some meeting at Holy Cross in Feb 97) I m sure somebody must remember it... If anyone wants it, PM me, Ill slide it along for entertainment purposes....
