Inverness, Florida - A 35-year-old central Florida teacher's aide is under arrest on charges she had sex with a 15-year-old male student.

Citus County sheriff's officials say Hernando resident Tammy Lee Huggins told detectives she had sex with the Citrus High School student 15 to 20 times since December. She was charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a child.

She resigned Monday after she finished teaching a class. She was a jobs coach and helped students get work with local businesses.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses who said they saw Huggins and the boy having sex. The boy confirmed the relationship to investigators.

Huggins was jailed on 15-thousand dollar bond.
Inverness is about 60 miles north of Tampa.

Jobs coach? I bet she was!

I'm beginning to wish I went to high school on Florida, or was in a teaching program at one of their colleges at least. The parents in CA are upset because the speaker talked to their 8th graders about strippers; I guess that is mild compared to the issue Florida has with teachers hooking up with their students :?:

yeah no kidding Whats in the water in FL? i had a sub teacher in HS that was 86 years old, she was born in 1908 and was blind as hell. i did however have a sub geography teacher in 8th grade for 2 classes that was 22 or so and damn smoking! i can just remember her sitting on the desk with her legs crossed. i sat in the front row. we were her very first class she taught after getting certified or licensed or whatever teachers have to do.

I had a journalism teacher that hooked up with a student but they couldn't prove that he did it while she was still a student, i know they were dating w/ in a month or so after she graduated around her 18th birthday... convient huh. I guess her parents loved the guy, she lived next door to my buddy and we used to see his car at her house all the time, we even saw him cutting her parents lawn when her father hurt his back... HUH! last i heard he went to another HS in MA cause he was offered a principal position & she went off to college.

Most states you do not have to be certified to Sub...usually you just need a degree. But not always. I'm subbing now in between jobs (hoping this LE thing works out).
