SPRINGFIELD - A Chicopee man police say ran a "heroin factory" out of his apartment has pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking charges.
Police say 38-year-old Angel Rivera got heroin from New York City then supplied thousands of bags of the drug to Springfield’s streets every week.
Rivera was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail at his arraignment in Springfield District Court on Wednesday to charges of trafficking in heroin, violation of a drug free school zone, and possession of a Class A substance with intent to distrbute.
Police say the pure heroin confiscated from Rivera’s apartment had a street value of about $10,000.
