I learned this weekend that the biggest danger to a cop is actually an edged weapon attack.
Anyone know where I can find some stats? I haven't found any with quick surfing. I had a good dialogue going on with one of the other academy students the other week that was upset the ban lapsed particularly because he is getting into Law Enforcement. I didn't really bring the topic back up yet. Hell, I'm with my instructors when they say they would much rather be in a gunfight than deal with some tool swinging a blade.

Edged weapons are much easier to get than guns, and almost anyone can get thier hands on a knife or other sharp implement. Many things that can kill are not hard to get. I will say that I would rather face one of these objects than a gun though.
