Gun Auction Sites

Well, on Saturday, the troops and I went to Riley's, Chester Arms, and Wildlife & Taxidermy and the cupboards were bare.

So my question is have any of you boys and girls used an online auction site to purchase a handgun or rifle?
In particular, either of the 2 links below or feel free to throw up a review of a site you've used and whether you endorse it or not. Thanks.

GB is very popular with people I work with who do custom builds, they buy all sorts of unique parts on there for good prices.

GB is the eBay of firearms, in my opinion, so I think you are always taking a chance with any seller who does not have stellar feedback or a brick-and-mortar storefront.

I tried to use Gunbroker since I saw an AR simunitions bolt on there that I wanted to purchase. However, since I rent rather than own the house I am in, I could not pass their automated "address verification". Rather than sending me something in the mail, they wanted me to send my ID in plus a utility bill to verify my address.

I did, and never heard anything...and that was three months ago.

Gunbroker is fine as long as you verify the seller, etc.

Random side note: GB is great for FFL(3) purchases. If you want a solid bolt action shooter (no matching parts, solid furniture) and want to pay close to or less than large gun show prices they are a great spot.

Thanks all - good information, much appreciated.
Amazingly, I flipped it for the same rifle that most Malls carry. WINNING!

I have a rifle en route. Not worried in the sleightest. I really don't think an AWB is coming out of this. I think that was the most the market would bear for the Ford Escort of EBRs
I have purchased 3 pistols and an AR buttstock from Gunbroker. All easy transactions with great sellers. Like others have said just check the feedback of the sellers.
I've had good experiences with gunbroker, including purchasing rifles, pistols and gun parts. But, I'll echo Wolfman and state I think this is not a good time to be buying anything as the "more money than brains" crowd will run the prices of everything through the roof.
