Byrne Program Mini-Grant Initiative
Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety Programs Division
The intent of this funding cycle is to support innovative projects that will increase juvenile justice services and/or promote delinquency prevention. Funds may also be requested for planning purposes if the pre-applicant has identified a problem, but needs funding support to complete a thorough assessment of the proposed problem and develop a cooperative, comprehensive implementation plan.

Grants made under this program shall support programs which provide assistance to individuals who are in need of transitional housing or housing assistance as a result of fleeing a situation of domestic violence, and for whom emergency shelter services or other crisis intervention services are unavailable or insufficient.

Youth Violence Prevention through Community-Level Change

This program will provide funding for a cooperative agreement to assess the efficacy or effectiveness of interventions designed to change community characteristics and social processes to reduce rates of youth violence perpetration and victimization. Recipients are expected to implement and conduct an evaluation of an intervention that targets modifiable community-level variables that have been shown to increase the risk of youth violence and/or enhance the protective factors that decrease the risk of youth violence.
