Georgetown: Two charged in home invasion
By Dan Atkinson
Staff Writer

GEORGETOWN - Two men are being held in jail after reportedly assaulting two people in a domestic feud over the weekend.
The two men invaded a Hillside Drive house at 1 a.m. on Saturday, according to police Chief James Mulligan. One of the assailants had a relationship with a woman in the house and assaulted her and another man present, Mulligan said.
"He was not happy the other fellow was there," the chief said.
Michael Crane, 19, of 11 Hillside Drive, Georgetown, and Frank Richardson, 20, of 1 Spofford Ave., Georgetown, reportedly kicked the man and hit him with a trophy, Mulligan said. The man was hospitalized but released by yesterday.
"They banged the guy up pretty good," Mulligan said.
Crane and Richardson fled after the victims called police, Mulligan said, and the victims were able to identify both men. They were arrested at Crane's residence shortly after the assault and were each charged with two counts of home invasion, felonious assault and battery for serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a shod foot and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Crane was also charged with assault and battery and Richardson was also charged with possession of a forged license.
Both men were arraigned in Haverhill District Court yesterday and will be held in the Essex County jail in Middleton until a dangerousness hearing next Monday, Mulligan said.
