Former Patriots Player Arrested
Christopher Sullivan Faces Multiple Charges

ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- While the Patriots were celebrating their big win over the Colts, a former Patriot and Southern New England native was getting arrested.

Former defenseman Christopher Sullivan was arrested in Attleboro just after 9 p.m. Sunday night.

Police said they were responding to a call of someone erratically operating a motor vehicle near Park and North Main Streets when they pulled over a 2004 Jeep Wrangler and found Sullivan inside.

The Patriots' 1996 fourth-round draft pick, big out of Boston College, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of a Class B or controlled substance, and possession of a Class A substance, heroin, with the intent to distribute.

This is not the first time Sullivan has been in trouble with the law. Back in June 2002, he was arrested for drunken driving in Lexington, just hours after attending a party at which he and other team members received their Super Bowl rings.

Sullivan was released Monday on $500 bail. He will be arraigned Tuesday in Attleboro District Court.

A former New England Patriot is in trouble with police. Former player Chris Sullivan is facing charges for drug possession after a traffic stop.

The former Patriot was arrested last night and now faces a number of charges. The BC grad is from North Attleboro, and after college made his way to the New England Patriots and Foxboro- just down the road.

Number 71, Chris Sullivan, graduated from Boston College in 1996. He was drafted that year by the New England Patriots and went on to play three seasons before playing one year with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He came back to the Patriots in 2001.

Around 9:30 last night he was arrested on Park Street in Attleboro after he was pulled over for driving the wrong way down the one way street. Attleboro police say Sullivan was operating under the influence of drugs. They also say they found a large amount of heroin and prescription pills in the car. He is being charged with possession with intent to distribute, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct.

Attleboro police are saying today that Sullivan’s disorderly behavior occurred during a field sobriety test. He was taken into custody around 9:30 last night and was released on 500-dollars cash bail. He will be formally arraigned in district court tomorrow.
