TROY, Ohio --
Former West Milton police officer James Johnston Jr. entered a plea of not guilty late Tuesday morning in Miami County Juvenile Court to a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The 29-year-old Johnston is accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl in West Milton in July of 2007 while on duty.
Johnston returned to Miami County from Florida, where he relocated to after losing his job with the West Milton police department over the allegations.
Johnston turned himself in to the Miami County Jail in Troy at 8 p.m. Monday.
He appeared in Juvenile Court wearing jail cover-alls, handcuffed and escorted into court by a deputy sheriff assigned to court security.
Bond was set at $5,000 in cash.
Johnston's jury trail is scheduled to begin on Dec. 8.
If convicted as charged, Johnston could get a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Keep in mind the words accused... the truth is he was set up by this girl and her friend. The girl lied about her age, bugged the crap outta him and when he rejected her she and her friend made up this crazy story and her parents who clearly were not around watching her actions believed her but there is absolutely NO proof that he ever had any relations with this deceptive lil girl.
He has now lost everything because of her.
Oh and he did not have to surrender as the article is wrong.. The original charge was dropped and then he moved to FL. Once he found out the charge was brought back up he willingly went back to face it.
This is so blown out of proportion just because he was a cop..
He is brave to go back and deal with this, he didnt have to there was no warrant in Fl.
In this day and age lil girls can make themselves appear older and they do it all the time. When they get caught or rejected this is typical activity of immaturity at its best.
