COOPER CITY, Fla. --
A Davie police officer was injured when a Toyota Highlander hit him from behind while he was stopped at a traffic light, pushing him into the intersection.
The officer was on his way to work when the crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday in Cooper City.
The driver of the SUV pushed the officer's car through the intersection of Southwest 100 Avenue and Griffin Road.
The officer was taken to Memorial Hospital West with nonlife-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
