FITCHBURG -- Fitchburg Police Capt. Philip Kearns said Fitchburg police officers assisted the State Police in arresting a Boston man for drug trafficking on Tuesday evening in Fitchburg.
Kearns said a state trooper in plain-clothing stopped a man in a car and found drugs in the car.
The trooper called Fitchburg Police for backup assistance.
Police found additional drugs in the car.
The man, Alexis Santos Delgado, 21, of 8 Chestnut St., Boston, was charged with distribution of a class B drug, cocaine trafficking and possession of a class D drug, according to police records. Kearns said he didn't know exactly how many drugs were confiscated but he said in order for a trafficking charge to be given, there must be more than 28 grams.
