Authorities say Campbell was driving at least 90 miles per hour
in a 65-mph zone.
Defense lawyer Richard Lustig said Davis was partly responsible
for his own death.
"My client did not have time to stop," Lustig said. "Police
officers make mistakes sometimes."
Of course not. 90mph is 135ft PER SECOND. With the average unaffected reaction time of 1.5 seconds a sober person would have gone almost 205ft before his foot ever reached the brake pedal. Factor in an intoxicated driver and the response time can only get worse. Add in the drag factor of the road and braking efficiency of the car.....it could have easily been 300+ft before impact
Dont you know that as cops we must make sure nothing gets within 300ft of us otherwise its our fault???
