How does one go about applying for the civil service exam, when is the next one, what age is the cut off?
Also, what can one do, especially being a female to prepare for the application process to apply to the Boston Police Academy?

The next test is slated to be spring of 2007, but nothing has been announced. When it is, it will be announced on the Massachusetts HRD website ( http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=hrdhomepage&L=1&L0=Home&sid=Ehrd ) most dept's dont have an age limit, but some i believe it is 33 years old. And you dont "apply" technically for the Boston Police academy, you must first take the test, then you will appear on the civil service list, and if you lucky, you'll land a conditional offer from the dept. of your choice, and then off to the academy. As far as preparing, exercise and keep out of trouble. Good Luck.

I believe some city/town cut off age is 32, some can waive it if you have active duty time, and for Boston you have to be a resident a year before the test.
