I have been doing a bit of mailing latley. I have been using USPS they seem to be good but slow. Does anyone have any opinions on who the better carrier is? FedEx, UPS, DHL or USPS. Cheap cost is big, but the care of the package and speed it is delivered is also important.

On a side note here is one of the competition battles:

USPS gets my vote. Never had a damaged pack from them, and they're pretty inexpensive. I guess the US Gvt got one thing right.

UPS Story. Awaiting a $1,000 power supply to arrive at one of my customers sites. I get bored and jump on UPS.com to track my priority overnight shippment. Its only like 0930, so I know they still have an hour to deliver it.
At first appearance, it says "In transit, on time"...

But, Im still bored, and I click on Detailed tracking info.
This is their idea of "on time"

FedEX is no better, and we dont deal with DHL....

USPS When I sell bike parts or trains things on Ebay or ship anything else----fast cheap and efficient with many options. I dont want to drive to Lynnfield to the UPS center......they are absolutly miserable there attuitude wise and expensive+UPS store ad's a 25% priemium if I shipped from there.

Recieveing:
I prefer USPS also as I have a predictable time to expect the box and dont have to far to get it if I miss it.

The key to shipping is a good new box and packing it well and not spareing the bubble wrap+ insureing it for the double the value so if they do fauck up you get your money back as well as the customer. :D

If at all possible though I prefer Planet Express.

I won't post which one yet so it does't bias the poll but, I hope you're aware that the USPS sub contracts portions of their business to one or more of the carriers you are comparing.

WELL FRANKLY IM DISGUSTED BY THE ENTIRE TOPIC!
I'm aghast that it was even brought up NPD...
Everybody knows if you want to receive the utmost level of excellence in service and quality;
you go to my brothers and sisters in the US Postal Service..

I hope we wont have to have this talk again...
And just remember - there's no rule against postal workers dating women, it just works out that way.

USPS, I use it because I believe mail fraud doesnt cover the private companies such as the ones you posted, so if someone says they didnt get my package or someone stole it its a federal offence.

I always do 2x insurance and signature confirmation with priority mail.
