No we do not have a patrol division. We do work quite a bit of details in our jurisdiction, and do have a task force unit which works outside. Nothing specifically for patrol however.
Our main duty is corrections. I spend most of my 40 hour week working the jail. If you are MCJTC Reserve certified, you can do details and a few other things, but not much else. Not a job to get into unless you want to work corrections or you are looking for a stepping stone. I think when I started, I got around 34K base, but there are a ton of perks. With details you can pull in a good chunk of change, especially once you put some time in.
Just wondering if anyone new when the next Essex County Academy is. I was told sometime in January just seeing if anyone had any info thanks.
