Everyone who thinks civil service is an outdated unnecessary system should take note of this case.

While training out-of-state a few years ago, I met a couple of deputies from South Carolina, who were employees-at-will of their Sheriff's department. They said the Sheriff could (and did) fire deputies for any perceived infraction or even if he didn't like what you were doing off duty. There was also not much of a recourse if this happened, either.

WOW that chief got spanked in that CS decision.

Spanked? I would say that he lost his credibility. Time to retire perhaps.
Having been an East Bridgewater resident for 50 years, and worked alongside many in this department, I can only say I'm very happy with this decision......Trust me, there was/is some history there. Time for both sides to move on............

Yeah - I noticed that too - - wonder when he'll be appointed as an officer...

He misrepresented too - should be charged - should be noted - he has integrity issues.
Yeah....Would it surprise you to learn the former Chief of Massasoit was appointed a special in EB, after his driving the department off-course and "retiring"?

Taking a gander at "Dispatcher O'Sullivan"'s FB page - I'll wager he's a BSU class of 2014 CJ Major.

FB page is a bit whacktastic.

Now you know how I feel when I click your links.

Are you logged into FB? I get the page. Not much to see (yet)
Do a google search and read the CS decision on this. It is an amazing, but not uncommon act of discipline by a town.

Lemme get this straight. The chief and sgt got all butt hurt because the po didn't do neighborhood/business checks? They fired him for that?? Insubordination?? That?!? Jeeziz what a couple of bitches.. Nice witch hunt ya POGs.....
I've seen it first hand when a dispatcher is in the back pocket of the Chief and makes his way to being appointed as a PO. Completely unable to be trusted. Not saying this of all who have taken this path.

Young and impressionable perhaps too bad. Probably part of Scott Allen's worship cult too.
