I keep my spare 3/4-length rain coat and rain cover rolled up in my bag. During the winter months, I add a Polartech fleece jacket to the mix. It doesn't take up much room when it is packed correctly and it becomes a hot item when you get stuck out at an accident scene at 2AM.

A portable DVD player doesn't hurt either!

Some other items I carry in my duty bag besides the already mentioned:

Plastic bags, paper bags (drug/evidence collection), road chalk/ spray paint, department forms, tape measure, disposable camera, extra handcuffs, calculator… that’s all I can think of right now… I’ll look in my bag tonight and see if I forgot anything!

You guys sound like your ready to survive in the woods for months. I used to carry a lot of stuff, but I recently narrowed it down to stuff I used. One important thing is a large clipboard folder with all the department fors I might need out there, missing persons form, towed MV, consent to search, Emergency RO, Tresspass, and many more.

Hey SPDFITZ, What about all the scratch tickets you buy every day. Do you keep those in your bag :p :p
