BARNSTABLE (WBZ) ― It's not clear yet if the first snowfall of the season is to blame for a deadly accident on the Cape early Wednesday morning.

State police say a 1997 Ford Ranger rolled over three times on Route 6 West before landing in the median near exit 6 (Route 132) in Barnstable just after 6 a.m.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected and died at the scene.

His name has not been released.

Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but the roads were slick from snow at the time of the accident.

According to the Cape Cod Times, there was a second accident on Route 6 west at Exit 7 in Yarmouth.
