CHARLESTOWN (WBZ) ― A driver was killed early Friday morning in a violent crash in Charlestown.
It happened around 1:40 a.m. on the outbound side of Rutherford Avenue, in the tunnel that goes under Sullivan Square.
The car hit the center steel guard rail, spun around, ejected the driver, and then came to a stop blocking the right lane.
The unidentified driver was found on the road behind the car.
It hit the center guard rail with such force that a section of it was knocked over onto the inbound side.
