There has been a spate of double murders in the UK, first there four murders in the space of 8 hours in North yorkshire, the offender was caught some five days later as he attempted to purchase a box of matches, which was a lucky break for the police in that area.
But a bit closer to home there was yet another double murder in North Lincolnshire, which now involves officers in my division, this is the link to the local paper if you wish to read the latest : www.lincolnshireecho.co.uk

The headline being :Police investigating the murder of Joan and John Stirland have carried out further inquiries.

Officers questioned residents of their home village, Trusthorpe, near Mablethorpe, yesterday and said they would be following up some information gathered.

This murder enquiry has stretched our resourses with officers being attached to various teams across the county, leaving the rest of us to deal with the day to day crime, and the overtime that brings.

I think its about time the " top brass " formed a permanent murder squad, which would receive specialist training, and be able to deal with such crimes effectively, and professionaly, without effecting the other policing issues and pressures the rest of us feel whenever these incidents happen.

I believe this is how it happens in the States, is this true ?

Our policing policies always seem to be four to five years behind yours, isn't it about time we caught up ? What do you think ?
