Fall River -
Police arrested a Dorchester man in connection with a shooting in the area of Pine Rock Acres, 859 Pine St., Thursday, and seized a loaded firearm. No one was injured.
Trajaun C. Albert, 21, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card and possession of a Class B drug to distribute near a school.
Police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Mauretti said Officer Barden Castro responded to a report of a shooting about 12:30 p.m.
After speaking to witnesses, police learned that during an argument, shots were fired at a man walking along Pine Street, Mauretti said.
The alleged shooter was seen running into the Pine Rock Acres apartment building, he said. An anonymous caller told police the suspect was in Apartment 305.
Castro and Sgt. Allen Saucier knocked on the door and a man, later identified as Albert, opened the door.
When he voluntarily gave up some marijuana, police noticed some ammunition in a drawer, Mauretti said.
Police arrested Albert and secured the apartment until they obtained a search warrant for it. Mauretti said the apartment is occupied by Albert's uncle.
In a subsequent search, police found a loaded, six-shot .38-caliber revolver and several bags of crack cocaine under an inflatable mattress.
Albert was not charged with the actual shooting as of Friday, as police continue to investigate the incident, Mauretti said.
