Any other DoD cops out there? Just wondering how your installations handle the jurisdiction issue. Are you sworn in locally, with SSPO powers, or another solution?
Thanks and be safe.

Just an update. We were trying for SSPO powers here. That fell thru this morning. Something about legislation that the Comm. of Mass. and the AF Reserve agreed upon in the early 90's. Oh well. I'll keep searching for a solution, if there is one! ](*,)

P.S.--Got activated effective Sun the 21st. Don't know where I'll deploy. Might be off the forums for a while. I'll get back to anyone if they do post here, when I can. Any suggestions to the jurisdiction issue here would be appreciated

Hey guys/gals;

Since we have our own thread now, thanks again Gil, Let's see how many of us are out there across the good ole US. Remembering OPSEC, we can discuss issues pertaining to equipment, uniforms, etc., etc. Or, just BS'ing a little. :)

I work as a DoD Sergeant at Westover in Mass. We have a good size dept. and use AF assets i.e. cruisers. They are white with the traditional AF Police markings. Anyone use anything with DoD markings? Our uniforms are french blue shirt, blk pants, and a "cabbie" hat. :)

How's that for starters? :lol:

Hey Sarge. I work for DoD Devens. We wear LAPD Blue shirts and pants and a crush style hat (sometimes). Most of the guys wear the ball cap. We drive Chevy Impala DoD cruisers. They are alright looking, but since our department is based out of Fort Dix New Jersey, they have an ugly yellow stripe on the side of them. The cruisers are posted in the Cruiser gallery.

We consist of 1 SGT and 9 patrolmen. We have 3 cruisers, 1 unmarked Ford Explorer, 1 Army Blazer, 2 mountain bikes, and three snowmobiles. All in all, we have got a good bunch a guys and it's a pretty sweet gig.

I work for DoD police in Orlando FL. It sucks @$$. We wear LAPD style blue uniforms and baseball caps. No patrol cars but 2 golf carts since we are a 40 acre parking lot and 3 office buildings. We have both military (for who knows what reason) and civilian police officers who have no arrest or apprehension authority and we need to call the local sheriff for everything.

As far as the DoD at Dix. I know quite a few of there guys. Most leave after getting their NJ PTC cert. All Dix does is run a big speedtrap most of the time. Fort Monmouth is almost the same way.

NR.... Up until recently I was an SP at Otis. I'm still a AF cop but at another unit. Good bunch of guys there, but there is a small group of people that seem to have the effect of ruining the whole squadron. You will find out soon enough who they are.
