Hi everybody. Just a shout from a retired Sgt(Norfolk). I retired in 1999 and promptly moved South to escape the Ma winters. I took advantage of the 20 year retirement and can assure you that there is "life after corrections." From reading the group's postings,it seems like not too much has changed since I left the business. Miss most of the people, don't miss the joint. I found the smell of prison unique and all pervasive.
I bet twenty minutes back and I would feel like I had never left.
Best of luck to you all,use your heads and stay safe.

Welcome Cone!
I'm glad you decided to log in and post! Good to have you on board!!

There are a lot of us here who have an interest in pursuing a career with the Mass DOC.
I'm sure we can benefit greatly from your experience and advice. I look forward to getting your perspective on life as a Correctional Officer in Massachusetts..

There are about a dozen or so active CO's who post in the Corrections Forums. A ton of advice and information has already been shared. I find the DOC guys to be among the best when it comes to helping out an inquisitive newbie.

Cheers & POST ON! KK
