I heard from a reliable source that the DOC is hiring another 75 guys for an academy real soon. Anyone hear able to verify this? I was told the cards are going out within a week. Here is another question hopefully someone can answer. I went through the PT, MED and Physc Tests back in September and passed all of them. I didn't get called cause they didn't go far enough down on the list, is this stuff that I passed still valid?

if you look at the DOC website it says anyone who took the last exam and has not yet been hired will need to take the up coming exam to be considered. also, my sister works at mci framingham and she heard the next class will be from the exam in may, but who knows if that is true.

At least this thread shouldn't be as long as 77th RTT

I wonder if they will use the people that passed the PAT, Physical, and Psychological tests last September. I think one of the academy guys said that the results were only good for six months. Who knows...

Its my understanding that those that went through the screening process last time are SOL and will have to repeat everything because it is DOC's policy that the screening process cannot be done longer than 6 months before a training academy. The good news is that DOC has changed the way the do the screening process which is going to be much more consolidated with fewer trips to Shirley. Good luck to all who decide to apply.

DOC CARD

I just recieved the card in the mail today. Just wanted to know some info about the card? When you go there is it an interview or you just going to sign the paper saying you will accept employment? Also, what is the physical ablities test like? My card said Addl names 100 correction officers. Thanx

You do sign the list saying that you will accept employment. Fill out a Criminal Record check form and pick up your application and receive directions on what to do with it. The PAT is a timed 1 1/2 mile run, push ups, and sit ups. The guidelines are set by age.
