Just out of curiosity, does the Dept. of Defense in Mass. have the power of arrest and if so under what legal authority- (federal/state)???

As for authority. It depends which military branch you work for as a DoD officer. The Army and Navy/Marines take good care of their cops. They issue their own citations(1805's) and make their own apprehensions(arrests). The Air Force limits their DoD cops to only land owners rights(Proprietary jurisdiction) We can only issue 1408's, non-monetary citations, and any apprehension has to be turned over to the State Police unless it's an active duty military member. All in all though, it's a good job. Good pay and fair bennies. USAJOBS.com is where you can check for openings. Hope this helps. :)
