Dennis Hopper Dies After Cancer Battle

    'Easy Rider' star dies in Venice, Calif., at the age of 74 from complications due to prostate cancer

    Actor dies at age of 74

    Actor Dennis Hopper, whose 50-year film career spanned such classics as “Rebel Without a Cause,” “Easy Rider,” “Apocalypse Now” and “Blue Velvet” died Saturday following a battle with prostate cancer, Reuters reported. He was 74.
    Hopper died from complications related to the cancer at his home in Venice, Calif., at 8:15am PT and had friends and family by his side, friend Alex Hitz told Reuters.

    man that is such a loss. You always think celebrities have access to the best treatments, plus access to preventitive measures. so defeating when some one privlidged loses the fight.

    Kilvinsky I think, therefore I'll never be promoted.

    He seemed to have drifted towards conservativism in his later years, so I admire that, even though not fully converted, he could see some light. He was also a hell of a talent and could be funny and scary all at once.

    My favorite roll though was in "Hoosiers". RIP Dennis.
