Applications are now being accepted for the position of Police Officer with the Connecticut General Assembly, Office of the State Capitol Police. Capitol Police officers are responsible for providing law enforcement services at the Connecticut State Capitol and Legislative Office Building in Hartford, Connecticut. Police officer certification is not required, however applicants who are certified by the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council will be separated and tested and rated based on this certification. Details of each examination will be provided at the time the applicant is scheduled for the particular examination. Successful applicants who are not certified police officers will be required to attend the POSTC academy. Officers are required to work rotating shifts.
