Today I was driving on I-91 southbound in Connecticut (four lanes on each side, 65 mph). One trooper was parked in an unmarked Dodge Intrepid in the breakdown lane running laser, and then 4 marked and unmarked cars were parked around the bend (maybe 1/4 ahead), two on the left, two on the right. The troopers were standing in the right and left lanes flagging people over to both the breakdown lane and the grass to the side of the left lane. I was on the other side, so as I was driving by, I breathed a sigh of relief that I wasn't on their side of the road. Of course, two miles later, I passed an unmarked impala running laser on my side of the highway. Sure enough, 1/4 of mile later, there were 4 more marked and unmarked cars on either side of the road, flagging people over. They stopped the car in front of me and another one two cars behind me, but let me through.

A half hour later, when I was driving northbound to get back home, I think I drove about 35mph the whole way

I used to work for Amtrak in Hew Haven CT back in 94/95 and I used to drive to work @ the begining of the week and home @ the end. On my way home I used to them do that same practice all the time, and actually got popped a couple of times.

I never really saw to much of that on the way down to New Haven( probably because I wasnt in a rush to get ot work) but on the way homeI saw it all the time.

I havent been to CT in awhile but from your post I guess there still doing the same practice.

I know when I got stopped thats how they grabbed me, I drove by the 1st Trooper and when he didnt wave for me to pull over or come after me I thought I was all set,AAAhhhh but much to my surprise he had friends right around the corner who wanted to have a chat with me and dicuss my speeding . Well needless to say I got a ticket ( and deservingly so). Needless to say I crawl through CT now.
