Ask other towns what they may be getting rid of...one of the "A" towns (Ashby? Athol?) got a nice CV from Princeton a couple years ago for cheap.
A mechanic I know attends all of the state auctions, and I went with him once. There was a guy who was buying up all of the best cars there, which my friend said he does at every auction. The guy runs a site usedpolicecars.com out of the north shore somewhere, I don't know how reputable he is but my friend said the guy was only bidding on the very best (mechanically speaking) cruisers at the auctions.
