Duties:
Perform complex criminal investigations into allegations of fraud which arise in the context of the insurance industry; insurance coverage and claims; and unemployment compensation, tax avoidance and benefit payments. Investigate referrals from the Massachusetts Insurance Fraud Bureau, the Department of Employment Training, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, State Fire Marshal?s Office, the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the Governor?s Auto Theft Strike Force, the Commonwealth?s Human Resources Division, the Division of Registration and other. Investigations typically involve and require proficiency in conducting audits of financial records and tracing the sources of financial assets and expenditures. Responsibilities also include documenting and investigating citizen complaints; interviewing witnesses; completing interview and investigative reports; completing applications for criminal complaints; collecting and securing evidence; assisting AAGs in case and trial preparation; and appearing in court and before the grand jury.
Qualifications:
B.A. / B.S. required. C.F.E. a plus. Prior experience in financial or law enforcement investigative work or a related field required. Familiarity with financial documents and proven ability to analyze and audit the financial condition of subjects being investigated strongly preferred. Good organizational and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, interviewing skills, computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets and database), strong investigative computer research skills and excellent writing and verbal communications skills necessary.
